Located just a few miles outside of Franklin, the Best Western Spring Hill Inn and Suites is in a great location. It has friendly staff and our room, a standard room with two queen size beds, has a large television, a microwave, a minifridge, hot water, and a powerful wall AC unit. I personally think the beds are a bit too firm to be comfortable, but my wife does not share this complaint so I suppose that is merely a matter of preference. I enjoyed the free breakfast but did not find it to be particularly remarkable in any way. I have not visited the pool or the exercise room but they are amenities nonetheless. All-in-all I would recommend this hotel for its price.
The room was nice, it is off the interstate a few miles but when you come to the stop sign you just go straight and the best western is right there on the right. It has a restaurant next to it. The only thing I didn't care for was the a.c. was not on and we had to plug them in. The room was cool after we came back from supper. We stopped overnight on our way to the beach and was glad to be able to get a room. Breakfast was standard fare for all hotels.
My husband and I checked into our room late in the evening and were very exhausted. Check out was quick and the front desk attendant was very nice. On our walk to the room the floor squeaked under our feet meaning the building was very old. This didn't mean much since the building itself seems to be maintained very well. When we finally got to our room there was a terrible Musty odor and the room was a bit muggy. I turned down the ac hoping to help the situation a bit. The ac never worked and displayed "err" on the thermostat. The carpet felt slightly damp from the humidity. Since we had gotten there so late and were so tired we just ignored it and let it be. Switching rooms was not in our best interest. Finally I get to the bathroom. I notice used, open bar soap on the counter. And another used, opened bar soap in the shower. Towels were put out making it seem as if house cleaning did their job, but they did not. I even found 2 dried up contact lenses by the tub in the floor. And last but not least the worst toilet ever. I used the bathroom as soon as we got into the room, then after me my husband used it as well. The toilet would not refill the tank in a timely manner. When my husband went to flush nothing happened. Look in the tank and everything seemed fine, nothing causing it to leak water or anything. It took almost 2 hours for the tank to refill to flush! I cannot justify the price we paid for the quality we received. I've gotten cheaper hotels in the past that were cleaner and had a more comfortable mattress.
I have spent many a night at the Best Western in Springhill during the past three years. During that time, they have made significant improvements to the property that make it a welcome stop after any days travel. The staff has always been welcoming and they respond to your request as if it were the most important job they had.
Staff was friendly, and hotel was clean. Older hotel but has been renovated. The breakfast has a lot to be desired. Not a lot of choices of items.
